Description:

The IS200VAICH1C is a VME Analog Input/Output (VAIC) Board, manufactured by General Electric as part of the Mark VI Series for gas turbine control systems. This VAIC board can handle 20 analog inputs and manages 4 analog outputs. Each terminal board accommodates 10 inputs and 2 outputs. Cables are used to connect the terminal board to the VME rack where the VAIC processor board is situated. The VAIC converts these inputs into digital values and sends them via the VME backplane to the VCMI board, and subsequently to the controller. In terms of outputs, the VAIC transforms digital values into analog currents, which are then directed through the terminal board into the customer's circuit. The VAIC is capable of supporting both simplex and triple modular redundant (TMR) applications. When operating in a TMR setup, input signals on the terminal board are distributed to three VME board racks labeled R, S, and T, each equipped with a VAIC. For output signals, a unique circuit is utilized to generate the desired current using all three VAICs. If there is a hardware failure, the faulty VAIC is excluded from the output, allowing the remaining two boards to continue producing the correct current. In a simplex configuration, the terminal board provides input signals to a single VAIC, which then supplies all the necessary currents for the outputs.
