Board Identification and Compatibility: The EROC includes a sophisticated board identification (ID) device that communicates seamlessly with the M1 or M2 control associated with the specific backplane slot. While the EROC can transmit data to both connectors, only one keypad can be connected at a time. This dual connector setup accommodates various mounting configurations of the EX2100 regulator control. Communication between the EROC and the keypad connectors utilizes the RS-232C protocol, with baud rates ranging from 1200 to 38,400.
Tool Connector and Interface
The EROC includes a tool connector on its faceplate, serving as an interface point for connecting an external computer to the IS200DSPX Digital Signal Processor Control board (DSPX).
This connection is established via a 9-pin plug connector and supports communication protocols using RS-232C, with baud rates ranging from 1200 to 38,400. The tool connector enables seamless communication between the EROC and external computing devices, facilitating system monitoring, configuration, and diagnostics.
Ground Loop Isolation
To ensure robust and reliable operation, the EROC incorporates ground loop isolation for the tool connector through a dc/dc converter. This feature mitigates potential ground loop issues, enhancing system stability and performance during operation.
ECTB Connector
The EROC also includes an ECTB connector, which supplies positive 70 V dc power to the contact output section of the Exciter Contact Terminal board (ECTB).
This connector powers and interfaces with the ECTB, enabling seamless communication and control between the EROC and the contact output section of the ECTB. This integration facilitates efficient coordination and management of exciter contact terminal functions within the overall excitation system.
