Description:

The IS200EACFG3B is an Exciter AC Feedback Board produced and engineered by General Electric, part of the EX2000 Series for Excitation Control Systems. It measures the exciter's AC supply voltage and current for the EX2100 Excitation Control using the IS200EACF Exciter AC Feedback board (EACF). This terminal board includes connections for two Flux/Air core coils and transformers for measuring three-phase voltage. Three DB9 connectors facilitate the connection of voltage and current circuit outputs to controllers M1, M2, and C. Up to 90 meters of cable can link the EBKP backplane board to the EACF. The EACF board is housed in the exciter auxiliary cabinet.

There are three versions of the board: EACFG1, EACFG2, and EACFG3, accommodating input voltages up to 480 V, 1000 V, and 1300 V rms, respectively. For revisions EACFG3BAA and later, the input voltage rating increases to 1400 V rms. High-frequency noise reduction is applied near the signal entry point for the flux/air core inputs. Where relevant, the input terminals are positioned within three inches or less from the cable shield terminal screws connected to the chassis ground.

EXCITER VOLTAGE MEASUREMENT DETAILS:

- G1 Version: Supports a single three-phase input voltage nominally up to 480 V rms +20% at 50/60 Hz.
- G2 Version: Supports a single three-phase input voltage nominally up to 1000 V rms +20% at 50/60 Hz.
- G3 Version: Supports a single three-phase input voltage nominally up to 1300 V rms +20% at 50/60 Hz.
- Potential transformers on both boards provide a nominal secondary output voltage of 1.6 V rms.
- The nominal secondary output voltage range for the air core current transformers is 0 to 0.8 V rms at 50/60 Hz.

APPLICATION DATA

The diagram below illustrates the layout of the EACF board. It utilizes three-phase voltage transformers labeled T1 through T4. Voltage inputs are connected via individual screw terminals TB1, TB2, and TB3. The two Flux/Air core coils are wired through terminal block TB4. Cables for the EMIO boards are connected to the EBKP backplane using the three 9-pin sub-D connectors designated as J504, J509, and J514.

The voltage test points TP1-4 are utilized to measure the output phase voltage of the potential transformers as follows:

- Measure the Phase to Phase (or Line) Voltage AB between TP1 and TP2.
- Determine the Phase to Phase Voltage BC using TP3 and TP4.
- Obtain the Phase to Phase Voltage CA between TP4 and TP1.
