Description:

The IS220PVIBH1AL, a product of General Electric (GE), is part of the Mark VIe series and functions as a vibration monitoring input/output (I/O) pack. This compact module, abbreviated as PVIB, integrates a local processing unit and data acquisition circuitry within a single I/O enclosure. Depending on the desired level of redundancy, either one or three of these I/O packs can be fitted onto the TVBA terminal board, facilitating Simplex or Triplex Modular Redundancy (TMR) configurations.

The TVBA features dual 24-position barrier terminal blocks designed to accommodate wires with a cross-sectional area of 3.0 mm² (equivalent to #12 American Wire Gauge), insulated for 300 volts, and terminated with either spade or ring lugs. For ease of wiring, captive clamps are included to secure bare wire ends directly. To ensure signal integrity and protect against electromagnetic interference, passive suppression circuits are employed between the terminal blocks and the I/O packs. Furthermore, a pull-up resistor network is incorporated to detect open circuit faults by applying a bias to the signals.

With the capability to monitor up to 13 sensors simultaneously, the PVIB offers versatility in accommodating various sensor types, tailored to individual channel settings and the specific processor model within the PVIB. The I/O pack itself is equipped with two RJ-45 Ethernet ports for network connectivity, a 3-pin power input, and a DC-37 pin connector that interfaces directly with the TVBA terminal board. Visual feedback is facilitated through status indicator LEDs, enhancing troubleshooting and operational awareness.

When integrating the IS220PVIBH1A into a TMR setup, it's crucial to update all three I/O packs to firmware version 5.01 or subsequent releases. This upgrade introduces additional functionalities associated with GAP12 capabilities, necessitating manual adjustments to pre-existing configurations to fully leverage the enhanced features introduced in firmware version 5.01.
