Description:

The IS220PTCCH1B REV F is a Thermocouple Input Module designed and manufactured by General Electric as part of the Mark VIe Series, utilized in GE's Distributed Control Systems. This module serves as the electrical interface between one or two I/O Ethernet networks and a thermocouple input terminal board. It comprises a processor board shared across all Mark VIe distributed I/O packs and an acquisition board specific to the thermocouple input function. The module can accommodate up to 12 thermocouple inputs, with two modules capable of handling 24 inputs on the TBTCH1C terminal board. In a TMR configuration with the TBTCH1B terminal board, three modules are used, each with its own cold junction, but only 12 thermocouples are supported. Power input is via dual RJ45 Ethernet connectors and a three-pin power input, while output is through a DC-37 pin connector that attaches directly to the corresponding terminal board connector. Visual diagnostics are facilitated by indicator LEDs, and local diagnostic serial communications can be performed through an infrared port.

To install the IS220PTCCH1B REV F, follow these steps:
1. Securely mount the chosen terminal board.
2. Connect one PTCC I/O module for simplex or three PTCC I/O modules for TMR directly to the terminal board connectors.
3. Mechanically secure the modules using threaded studs adjacent to the Ethernet ports, which engage with a mounting bracket designed for the specific terminal board type. Ensure there is no right-angle stress on the DC37 connector between the module and the terminal board. This adjustment should only be necessary once during the product's lifespan.
4. Depending on your system configuration, connect one or two Ethernet cables. The module will operate on either port, and if dual connections are used, it is common to link ENET1 to the network connected with the R controller.
5. Connect the side power connector of the module to power it up. There is no need to power off the cable before connection due to the built-in soft-start feature that manages current inrush upon power application.
6. Configure the I/O module as needed using the ToolboxST application.
