Description:

The IS220PPDAH1B is a type of I/O pack within the Mark VIe system. This system offers distributed control solutions that are backplane-free and based on Ethernet technology, which enhances system availability and simplifies operations and maintenance throughout its lifecycle. The foundation of an Industrial Internet heavily relies on Ethernet transmission. As an alternative to rack-based control, the Mark VIe system utilizes this flexible, high-speed, and cost-effective communication at the lowest level of control system design.

I/O can be either distributed or centralized, and both primary and safety controls can coexist on the same network while remaining functionally separate. Moreover, the primary control can monitor safety inputs without causing any interference, reducing the need for duplicate field instrumentation and thereby lowering costs.

For tasks such as programming, configuring, trend analysis, and diagnostics of Mark controls and related systems, the ControlST* Software Suite is employed. This suite includes the ToolboxST* application software, which provides high-quality, time-synchronized data at both the controller and plant levels. This allows for more efficient management of control system equipment.

The ControlST software simplifies maintenance while maintaining a unique set of approved hardware and software components. The ToolboxST enables users to lock or unlock the Mark VIeS Safety controller for the configuration and programming of Safety Instrumented Functions (SIF).
