Description:

The IS200EPDM Exciter Power Distribution Module (EPDM) is used in the EX2100 Excitation Control to provide power for the control, l/0, and protectionboards of the exciter. It is mounted on the side ofthe IS200EPBP Exciter PowerBackplane (EPBP) and receives 125 V de power from the station battery and acceptsone or two 120 V ac power inputs for backup, All power supply inputs are receivedthrough a board mounted terminal block (TBl ) and are filtered, Each ae supply isrectified to 125 V de in an exteral Ac to De Converter (DACA). The resulting twoor three de voltages are diode coupled through extemal diodes to create the de sourcepower supply, designated Pl25V and Rl25V, These voltages are center groundedand are nominally +62.5 V and -62.5 V to ground. The module is chassis groundedand safety grounded through four ofthe board mounting holes.

Two 12-plug connectors (JDACAl and JDACA2) connect the ac power sourcesfom the terminal block (ACl and AC2) to the external DACA#l and DACAf2, andreturn the DACA outputs to the 125 V dc lines (P125 and Rl25).

Individual power supply outputs to each of the exciter boards are fused, have anon/off toggle switch (except the EXTB board), and a green LED indicator to showpower availability. The outputs supply up to three IS200EGPA Exciter Gate PulseAmplifier Boards (EGPA), the IS200EXTB Exciter Terminal Board (EXTB), andthree IS200EPSM Exciter Power Supply Modules (EPSM) serving three controllers.A separate connector is provided for each output and these are wired to the EPBP fordistribution.
