The IS200EGDMH1AGG is a Ground Detection Module developed by General Electric (GE) and is an integral part of the EX2100 control system. This module plays a crucial role in monitoring and detecting ground conditions within the EX2100 Excitation Control system, ensuring the overall integrity of the generator field circuit.

Features
Form Factor and Mounting

Ground Detection Functionality
- Core Function: The primary function of the module is to detect field leakage resistance between any point in the generator field circuit and ground. This capability enhances the system’s ability to identify potential issues and maintain the integrity of the generator field circuit.

System Configurations
- Simplex System: In a simplex configuration, one EGDM is used.
- Redundant Setup: In a redundant setup, three modules are deployed for increased reliability. The specific placement of these modules is illustrated in Figure 1.

Integration with Attenuator Module
- Collaboration: The module works in conjunction with the EXAM, a key component responsible for sensing voltage across the ground sense resistor. This information is transmitted to the EGDM(s) via a dedicated nine-conductor cable. The EXAM module is located in the High Voltage Module within the Auxiliary Panel.

Configuration Control Mechanism
- Role Assignment: Each module's role as either Controller, Master 1, or Master 2 is determined by the program pins on the P2 connector. This setup allows for efficient control and coordination within the redundant control architecture.

Drive Signal Management
- Drive Signal Information: Information regarding which master provides the drive signal to the sense resistor in the Attenuator Module is relayed from the DSPX through the EISB (Exciter ISBus Board) to EGDM C. Upon receiving this information over a fiber-optic link, EGDM C activates or deactivates the relay in the Attenuator Module based on whether Master 2 (M2) or Master 1 (M1) is identified as the driver.

Differential Signaling and Active Master Selection
- Differential Signaling: A differential signal is sent to both Master 1 (M1) and Master 2 (M2) to indicate the chosen master for the operation. This signal enables the signal generator on the active master and selects the test command source on each module (M1, M2, and C).

Oscillator Signal Transmission
- Signal Conversion: Once the active master is identified, it receives an Oscillator Signal over a fiber-optic link from the DSPX through the EISB. The master module converts this signal into a positive or negative 50-volt square wave voltage, which is then transmitted via cable to the EXAM (Attenuator Module) and applied to one end of the Sense Resistor.

LED Indicators
- Upper LED - Power Indicator: Illuminates when power is successfully applied to the board from the backplane, indicating the board's operational readiness.
- Middle LED - Master Selection Indicator: Illuminates when the board has been selected as the master in the redundant setup, aiding operators and maintenance personnel in real-time troubleshooting and system diagnostics.
- Lower LED - Master Signal Transmission Indicator: Illuminates when the specific EGDM board is functioning as the master and actively sending a 50-volt signal, providing real-time feedback on the dynamic operation of the master board.
