DS200VPBLG2A GE LS2100, VME P2 BACKPLANE FOR LCI

Description:

The VME Backplane Board DS200VPBLG2A, a component of the LS2100 Series by General Electric Industrial Systems, represents the second iteration of the VPBL model. This backplane features multiple sections, with section J2 being particularly notable for supporting various boards within the LS2100 Series. Specifically, section J2 accommodates a DSPC, up to three Gate Distribution Status Boards, one exciter board, and an I/O extender daughterboard.

In section J2 of the DS200VPBLG2A, there are eight VME-type connectors, six of which are positioned with double-wide spacing, leaving two single-spaced connectors available for potential enhancements. Additionally, the model includes ten power bugs designed to electrically connect the P1 backplane to the VPBL. It also features a thirty-four-pin ribbon connector labeled as EXJV, which handles all signals for the external exciter bridge.

The VPBL board is a backplane for the J2 and J3 sections of the control cabinet’s VME rack. The J2 section connects the following boards:

• DSPC board (slot J1)
• UCVA processor board for Innovation Series Controller applications
• Up to four FCGDs (slots J5, J7, J9, and J11)
• FCGE exciter board (slot J13)
The J3 section provides connections that cannot be made on board fronts because of space restrictions.
These include connections to current transformers , interface boards, and a power supply.
