Description:

This low-frequency measuring system is suitable for
the special requirements of hydraulic turbomachinery.
Hydro machines generally operate at low
speed, between 60 and 1000 RPM. The CV 210
velocity transducer is principally recommended for
vibration measurements in this frequency range (1 Hz
to 20 Hz).
Good sensitivity and rugged design make the CV 210
suitable for all types of industrial low speed
machinery. Its stainless steel case and watertight
sealed connector allow it to withstand damp and
corrosive environments. In very harsh industrial
environments, the transducer should be fitted with its
cable assembly protected by a flexible metal sheath.
An optional TA 114 mounting adapter is available to
rigidly clamp the transducer to the machine.
The sensing element of the transducer is a coil
moving around a permanent magnet, which produces
a voltage directly proportional to the vibration velocity.
The CV 210 does not require an external power
source. The IVC 632 signal conditioner is an integral
part of the system and is always used with the
CV 210 velocity transducer. The two devices are
connected by an ED 109 or ED 112 cable assembly.
The conditioner contains electronic circuitry that
provides low-frequency compensation to allow the
transducer to operate below its resonant frequency.
The conditioner can provide voltage- or current-based
output signals. The voltage transmission technique
(3-wire) can be used to transmit signals over a
distance of up to 200 m, while the current
transmission technique (2-wire) is recommended for
longer distances of up to 1000 m. In this case, the
conditioner transmits the signal directly to a GSI
galvanic separation unit, which provides effective
insulation from differences in earth potential of up to
4 kV.
The IVC 632 conditioner is powered by the
associated processor module. The conditioner is
enclosed in a diecast aluminium box. This can be
mounted in an industrial housing for additional
protection
