Description:

The ABB 88FV01 is a master station modem module designed to work in tandem with the 88FK05 remote bus junction module. The 88FK05 module connects the cabinet to a channel of the PROCONTROL remote bus.

One of the key specifications of the 88FV01 is its capacity to manage up to 32 88FK05 remote bus junction modules per channel. It can establish connections with 1 to 4 stations, supporting both single-channel and dual-channel configurations.

The 88FV01 comes equipped with two standard interfaces for the PROCONTROL remote bus and another two for the 88FT05 remote bus coupling module. It links to the remote bus through a pair of incoming and outgoing twin-axial cables, while the station connection is made using an RG58 A/U standard coaxial cable.

This module is used in the PROCONTROL cabinet, specifically models 89MS01/R0200 and 89MS02/R0100. Notably, it does not require any supply voltage as it functions as the passive component of the remote bus coupling. The module's design also facilitates an earth connection to the cabinet casing.

Moreover, the 88FV01 includes a remote bus termination feature. This termination is essential for ending the remote bus cable, taking into account its specific impedance characteristics. The termination process is initiated by moving two jumpers within the remote bus junction module.
