The volume of China-Europe freight trains reached a record high in May

The reporter learned from China National Railway Group Co., Ltd. that in May this year, a total of 1,724 China-Europe freight trains were launched, sending 186,000 TEU of goods, an increase of 14% and 13% respectively, and a record high of monthly traffic volume.

According to the person in charge of the freight Department of the National Railway Group, since the beginning of this year, the National Railway Group has given full play to the advantages of a national railway network and centralized and unified command of dispatch, comprehensively deepened the market-oriented reform of freight, accelerated the construction of a modern railway logistics system, carefully organized cargo transport, continued to improve railway freight capacity and service quality, and provided reliable transportation guarantee for economic and social development.

Overall, the national railway sent 337 million tons of cargo in May, an increase of 2.8%, and the average daily load of 180,500 vehicles, an increase of 3.0%. Among them, international combined transport has remained stable and smooth. The railway sector has made good use of domestic and foreign coordination mechanisms to strengthen the construction of China-Europe railway corridors and transport organization, and the categories of cargo have been continuously expanded, and the volume of traffic has continued to grow strongly.

The person in charge said that as China's economic operation continues to pick up and improve, the demand for railway freight will remain high, and the railway sector will further deepen the structural reform of the transport supply side to ensure the smooth operation of the national economy and the production and life of the people.
